Open meeting for TTK members, reviewing our story to date and how we should organise

TTK has had great success in the nearly three years since it began, but it feels time for a reorganisation, to ensure that project teams are represented on the Steering Group, that the structure works for everyone, that everything that needs to be done is done, and that each person is doing what they enjoy and find value in. A plan for this important meeting is being put together. More details to follow.
Draught-Proofing Workshop

Bring along your own make-do-and-mend sewing project or problem for help and advice at our sociable sewing session. Everyone welcome, just come along, whether you want to pass on a skill or pick up tips and new ways of doing things or join in the month's project - possibilities include knitting or making a rag rug.

Members of the public are invited to bring along their own make-do-and-mend sewing project or problem for help and advice: sewing on buttons, poppers etc, repairing holes, replacing zips, turning up hems and other simple alterations - all helping to reduce waste and keep serviceable items out of landfill.

Our contribution to Paint the Town Green, 2012. Learn some useful sewing skills while making a strong and attractive recycled shopping bag - bring your own fabric or find suitable piece to re-use in our store of materials. Everyone welcome, just come along whether you need a new shopping bag or not - we will find good homes for surplus bags..
Coffees and teas at All Saints Church, 2012
Saturdays Feb 11, Mar 3, Mar 31, 10am-1pm: All Saints Church, Market Place, Kingston
TTK's occasional Saturday outing to serve teas, coffees, biscuits and cake (made by us) to weary shoppers in Kingston, and at the same time do a bit of TTK / TTK project awareness and fund-raising. Volunteers to help and/or cakes welcome (contact Marilyn) - or just pop in to have a chat and a coffee, or to buy Phoenix greeting cards and other nice paper things from Anna Dyson who will be there too.

Thursday March 1st, John Lewis sustainability "road show": TTK will be joining other local community groups in JL's main Wood Street foyer on Thursday March 1st from 11.00am - 2.00pm in this "road show" for Fairtrade fortnight.
Throughout May: Paint the Town Green, with Kingston's May Merrie at the beginning and Food Festival at the end. Watch this space, plan a green activity or two, and/or contact TTK Steering Group with your ideas.
