2nd Tuesday of every month, 6.30-9.00pm, The Ham Brewery Tap, 4-6 Ham St, TW10 7HT, just past Ham Common (NB, new venue).
Ham Green Drinks is an informal networking session for all those interested in environmental issues and especially the projects being run in the local area, such as the Street Champions project, the Low Carbon Zone and the Ham Hydro scheme currently in the planning stage. Or just for people who like a drink and a chat. Near the 65 and the 371 bus routes.
Join in a day of food, music, drama, and lightly thought-provoking talks in our one-acre orchard, including Kingston College Drama Troupe presenting "Victorian Fairy Tales" and speaker Tim "Mac" Macartney from Embercombe.
By road: At Tolworth roundabout turn into Barnsbury Lane. Right at Hazel Bank, left at Alpine Avenue and follow signs for Knollmead Primary School. Leave vehicle on the road and walk (or bring bicycle) into allotment site. Keep to the right: turn right at T-junction (compost bins made of pallets) and our site is at the end of the track, past the new Kingston Orchard Project site and through our woven gate. Please avoid driving on site.
By rail: From Tolworth Station (on the Chessington-Waterloo line) cross the Kingston Road (A240) and go along Donald Woods Gardens, then on through to Alpine Avenue, right to Knollmead Primary School and as above.
FreeBring food and drink for BBQ.
Main items on the agenda will to discuss how the new management team work together and share responsibilities, and to plan a schedule of public events - but all welcome to bring along projects and ideas to discuss.Next meeting after this will be on Tuesday 16th July, same time, same place.
...will be taking an extended summer holiday while we look for a suitable new meeting place.
Do you know a good venue where TTK's sociable stitching /skill-sharing session could meet to help people to give clothes a new lease of life (repairing altering, updating), keep them out of the waste system, and save money? Ideally our meeting place would be accessible and central with facilities for refreshments, and would have storage for several sewing machines and some sewing kit. Please contact Marilyn if you can help.
