Skill-up: Power Down is all about making the most of the vast number of valuable skills in our community. We aim to provide practical, fun and free opportunities to share skills in an informal environment.
We are a fledgling group and aim to set up a year long programme of skills sharing workshops to include an array of skills from carpentry and plumbing to knitting and draught-proofing. We want to equip kingston residents with the skills and thinking tools that they'll need to experience a positive transition to a low carbon future. We aim to work with existing Kingston groups and the areas we hope to look at include reducing energy use in the home, building with local/natural materials, general repair and food growing.
We have recently applied for funding from RBK Council and are currently devising the programme of events. Our hope is that we will act as a catalyst for more specialised skills groups to become established.
If you would like to be added to our mailing list, offer a skill or have a skill you'd really like to learn from others, please get in touch. Keep an eye on the main Upcoming Events page or follow TTK on Twitter for details of future sessions.
