From the Ground Up depends on your generosity of time and goodwill to ensure it continues. In turn, it provides a great hands-on experience working for a community food initiative.  We also recognise that people are extremely busy with life.... so to reward people who want to assist, From the Ground Up is launching a loyalty scheme.

FGU Loyalty Scheme

FGU is underpinned by the core principles of a 'co-operative' working model and if you pitch in now and then we will have spectacular results. Get involved and you could save on your next order. For every session you assist (approximately 3 hours each), you earn £2 off your next order with FGU.  If you choose to be a morning lead, you will earn £4 off your next order.  A healthy discount no matter how you look at it.  And you'll be helping promote affordable safe chemical free food whilst supporting producers using earth friendly farming methods.

Options for getting involved:

Assisting on Collection Mornings
Sort food and review for quality, pack customer orders, greet customers and review orders, oversee cash box if requested, clean up, prepare tea (optional)
When & Where: Saturday mornings from 9am - 12noon at the Kingston Environment Centre or 10am - 1pm at The Lamb in Surbiton.

Morning Lead
For those who want to push the envelope, the role of Morning Lead oversees the activities of the collection morning.
When & Where: Saturday mornings from 8:45am - 12noon at the Kingston Environment Centre, 9:45am - 1pm at The Lamb in Surbiton

If you'd like to get involved just drop us an email fgu@ttkingston.org letting us know when you're available and where you'd like to help.

New Online Rota

Signing up to work with FGU has just gotten easier.  We now have a new online rota that will allow you to choose those dates you want to help out.  It only takes a few minutes, so why not give it a go.  You must be registered in our FGU Shop and not be logged on to any other gmail accounts whilst you are using the rota system.

  • Log on to the FGU Shop (this can be done outside of Shop hours) and click on yellow 'volunteer' button

  • Put in 'fguangels@gmail.com for the username and organic1 as the password

  • Click 'Allow Access'

  • You will now see a list of dates for helping - simply tick the boxes for those dates you would like to help

  • Click update (bottom of rota)

  • You will receive a confirmation in your inbox of the dates you chose

That's it...we look forward to your involvement with Kingston's only community BESPOKE veg box scheme.
