Green Communities is a programme by the Energy Saving Trust (EST) that aims to support, facilitate and promote community based energy projects. TTK is working in partnership with EST and Creative Environmental Networks (CEN) to implement a Kingston Green Community Action Plan. As we build TTK’s capacity and expertise, we envisage a community implemented "Energy Descent Action Plan".
Our Green Communities Action Plan has been created to help us reduce Kingston resident's impact on the environment, reduce energy bills and build confidence to act on climate change.
Actions include distributing energy monitors, data collection and analysis; expanding the TTK energy group's membership; working with local schools and businesses to increase sustainable forms of transport such as walking, cycling and car share schemes; assessing local ecosystem services; researching the possibility of collectively buying green energy at a reduced cost.
Spring 2010 : TTK group trials the Owl® home energy monitor. Here’s what we learned. Download Report Here
If you are interested in joining the energy group and helping achieve any of the above actions please contact Christopher Thomas
